Sara is retiring

After 28 years of providing both dog behaviour and obedience training in Leicestershire, Sara Whittaker is saying farewell. Therefore, from the 28th of March 2025, WitsEnd will no longer be offering dog training or behavioural services. The physiotherapy, hydrotherapy and pet shop will continue as normal.

Sara founded WitsEnd back in 1997 and over the years has successfully grown the business from humble beginnings of dog training in her garden to the indoor training facility we all know, along with the inclusion of the fabulous physiotherapy and hydrotherapy service. During her time at WitsEnd, Sara has worked with thousands of dogs and their families, from puppies, seniors and rescues. Sara has seen them all! She became a lecturer at Animal Colleges, worked on both TV and Radio and became a published author.

“I am honoured to have been able to provide a training service over the years and have been so proud of what we achieved over that time, from writing books, working in radio and television, lecturing students, introducing the physiotherapy services and much more.

Training has given me much insight into dogs and their relationships with people. Much of which I have put down on paper – Dog & Puppy Matters and Dog Behaviour Matters. A lasting support with many of my tips and suggestions for all new dog owners and a refresher for those who have been to WitsEnd before. These books are available at WitsEnd or through Amazon and Kindle.

I have met a variety of amazing people and dogs over the years many of whom have become good friends. I cannot thank you all enough for trusting me, supporting our business and for the countless moments of fun along the way.

And finally, a big thanks to all the staff who have worked with me in supporting the behaviour and training.”

Going forward, WitsEnd will continue to focus on physiotherapy/rehabilitation and the pet shop side of our business.

One door closes another opens, and I am going back to my love of playing and writing music, which is all available for you to enjoy on either Spotify, YouTube and all other music platforms.

A big thanks and a fond farewell to you and your dogs.

Sara
