A happy Filbert

Sara,

It has now been 4 months since we brought our dog Filbert to you. Filbert was becoming a nightmare to walk he chased balls, bikes, joggers, mowers and even cars. As we walked him to the park he would try and pull me into the road to get to the cars.

If he ever caught a jogger or bike he would run round them and 'herd' them up. We walked him on a 24 foot rope while on the park, that way we could keep a certain level of control over him while he played plus if we let him off he would never come back when it was time to go home.

You suggested we tried a spray collar on him... It Works!!!

Now when we walk Filbert it is a joy not a nightmare!

Cars: He now only stares at the cars, occasionally he pulls to get at them but he gets a beep from the collar for that.

Bikes, joggers etc: He now only looks at them if they are close to him.

Filbert now goes on park with a normal lead, we also let him of so he can run round free now. When it is time to go home we call him and he comes.

Filbert always has his spray collar on and I am still always on guard with him. I don't think we will ever get him out of the car habit but he has definitely improved.

Unfortunately he still dives at the telly though when football is on!

As you requested, here is a picture of a new improved Filbert.

Thank you very much for your help,

Amanda Greaves & Filbert
